Position Overview

A Medical Assistant plays a key role in supporting physicians, nurses, and patients by performing both clinical and administrative tasks. The role ensures smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality care within the healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Prepare examination rooms and assist physicians during patient exams.

  • Record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.

  • Collect and label blood, urine, and other diagnostic specimens.

  • Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician.

  • Perform basic laboratory tests and maintain medical equipment.

  • Conduct EKGs, wound care, and other routine clinical procedures.

  • Ensure infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols are followed.

Administrative Duties

  • Greet patients, schedule appointments, and manage patient flow.

  • Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR).

  • Process insurance forms, billing, and patient payments.

  • Coordinate referrals, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments.

  • Manage medical inventory and order supplies.

  • Answer phone calls and assist patients with inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Medical Assistant or relevant healthcare field.

  • Knowledge of basic clinical procedures and medical terminology.

  • Proficiency in EHR systems and basic computer applications.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

  • CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
