Position Overview
A Medical Assistant plays a key role in supporting physicians, nurses, and patients by performing both clinical and administrative tasks. The role ensures smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality care within the healthcare facility.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties

Prepare examination rooms and assist physicians during patient exams.

Record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.

Collect and label blood, urine, and other diagnostic specimens.

Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician.

Perform basic laboratory tests and maintain medical equipment.

Conduct EKGs, wound care, and other routine clinical procedures.

Ensure infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols are followed.
Administrative Duties

Greet patients, schedule appointments, and manage patient flow.

Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR).

Process insurance forms, billing, and patient payments.

Coordinate referrals, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments.

Manage medical inventory and order supplies.

Answer phone calls and assist patients with inquiries.
Qualifications
-
Diploma or Certificate in Medical Assistant or relevant healthcare field.

Knowledge of basic clinical procedures and medical terminology.

Proficiency in EHR systems and basic computer applications.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
